Improvisation
In addition to the Swing and Latin etudes, auditions will also include "I Got Rhythm" from Approaching the Standards, Vol. 1 by Dr. Willie Hill and "Dr. Jay" (Eb Blues) from Blues in All Keys, Vol. 42 by Jamey Aebersold.
Piano, Bass, Guitar, Vibes, and Drums will play the melody first chorus, comp or walk second chorus, and improvise third chorus on "I Got Rhythm" and "Dr. Jay".
All-State Jazz call back auditions will include sight reading.
