Improvisation
In addition to the Swing and Latin etudes, auditions will also include "I Got Rhythm" from Approaching the Standards, Vol. 1 by Dr. Willie Hill and "Dr. Jay" (Eb Blues) from Blues in All Keys, Vol. 42 by Jamey Aebersold.
Winds will be required to play the melody and improvise a minimum of one chorus on "I Got Rhythm" and "Dr. Jay".
All-State Jazz call back auditions will include sight reading.
